Hi Reader

Welcome Back to Destination: Luxe Weekly

Travel is alive, unpredictable, and ready to surprise you. Disney just announced it's dazzling castle glow-up, Royal Caribbean is fixing waterslides faster than you can say “bon voyage,” and Virgin Voyages is throwing a debut party at sea you won’t forget. Hold on tight — luxury travel isn’t waiting for anyone, and neither should you

Let’s get into it

The Luxe Lowdown

✨Disney’s Castle Gets a Glow-Up

Cinderella Castle will be getting a brand-new color palette, and honestly? It’s about time. The softer blues and shimmering golds bring a fresh energy to the park. On the other side of the park in Tomorrowland, Tron Lightcycle Run overlay adds a futuristic kick you didn’t know you needed. It’s like Disney finally remembered that fantasy can be bold and modern at the same time

Sure, purists will cry about “ruining tradition,” but let’s be real — theme parks aren’t museums. They’re living, breathing stages of wonder, and Disney just flipped the lighting on Act Two

Bottom line: love it or hate it, you’ll definitely be pulling out your phone for a castle selfie

🛠️ Royal Caribbean Fixes Broken Waterslide Fast

After a glass panel shattered on the Frightening Bolt waterslide aboard Icon of the Seas, Royal Caribbean acted quickly. Instead of replacing it with more glass, they’re installing solid tubing like the rest of the slide. Guests onboard have spotted crews working with cranes and construction gear to get it back in action

The slide remains closed for safety checks and inspections. It’s unclear when it will reopen, but the fix is already underway. This quick response shows that cruise lines can turn things around fast when they need to

🚢Virgin Voyages’ Big Debut

Virgin Voyages isn’t just dipping a toe in the cruise market anymore — they’re cannonballing. Their newest ship is officially sailing this week, and it’s dripping with Virgin’s signature rebellious energy

Think rooftop-style parties at sea, entertainment that feels like a Vegas afterparty, and sleek lounges that practically scream “adults only.” Forget shuffleboard and karaoke — this ship’s heartbeat is nightlife, glam, and unapologetic fun. If you want tradition, book elsewhere. But if you’re craving a cruise that feels like crashing an exclusive club on the Mediterranean?

Virgin’s got your boarding pass. This isn’t just sailing — it’s an attitude at sea

Weekly Travel Tip

Sip Smarter on Board

Here’s the thing cruise lines don’t exactly shout from the rooftops: you can bring your own drinks — within limits

For example:

  • Royal Caribbean: Two bottles of wine or champagne (750 ml max each) per stateroom, plus nonalcoholic beverages up to 12 cans, bottles, or cartons
  • Disney Cruise Line: Two bottles of wine/champagne OR six beers per adult at embarkation (and again at each port), tucked neatly in your carry-on

With a little planning, you can toast with your favorite drink without bowing to inflated bar prices. Just remember: carry-on only. Checked luggage is a one-way ticket to sad, confiscated bottles
